Popular HP Restoring Items
Most popular HP restoring items are buyable from NPCs, especially for leveling up lower level characters and general PvM. For more competitive endgame means like War of Emperium and MVP hunting, more expensive items like condensed white potions (otherwise known as "slims") are used, and are often ranked too. These are normally either supplied by the guild, or bought from vendors.

NPC Buyable
Notes
✔
The most basic form of HP restoring item. Yellow and White Potions tend to be not worth buying or using, and are not worth the cost normally. However, White Potions can be quite good for "emergency" situations for quickly replenishing HP.
✔
A very popular HP restoring item for leveling new characters, and these are quite effective at lower levels. They have decent healing rate, are quite cheap, and do not cost a lot. Also has a boost from Fish In Mouth, Octopus Hat and having a Portable cage for Scatleton or Skelion Egg pet.
✘
Also known as "slims", this is the most popular HP restoring item for endgame purposes, and usually ranked ones too. They require Witch Starsands for brewing, and depending on their current market value, this will affect the price of slims. Also has a boost from Toy Syringe.
✔
Used in conjunction with the Witch's Pumpkin Hat and Alarm Mask combination, and provides for very good healing rates, but does take up all the headgear slots. Yellow Trans Candies may also be used with the set for twice as much healing, or used separately to free up headgear slots. See the Healing Value Boosters section for more information.
✔
The improved forms of normal potions but have a base level requirement of 60. They used to have a 3 second cooldown, but now they have no cooldown.
Popular SP Restoring Items
SP restoring items cannot be bought from NPCs. They can be bought from other players however, by buying from vendors or by setting up a Buying Store. Light Blue Potions can be purchased from the Kafra Shop and are a very effective SP restoring item. Many new players like to hunt for Strawberries as they can be sold to other players for a decent amount of zeny.
For PvM purposes, Magnificat can greatly cut down the use of SP restoring items, and Scholars and Sorcerers are an effective support class due to their ability to provide SP to party members with Soul Exhale and their ability to generate SP by trading away HP using Indulge.

Notes
✘
The basic form of SP restoring item. Not very common and therefore not often used.
✘
A very popular SP restoring item. They have a decent SP healing rate, are a somewhat common monster drop (Spores and Boas), and are also quite light.
✔
An improved version of Blue Potion that can be bought from the Advanced Potion Seller NPC in Tool Shops around major cities. Like other syrups it also has a base level 60 requirement. It has a 1 second cooldown.
