An Amistr is one of the creatures available through the Homunculus System, summonable by Alchemists who have completed the Bioethics Quest.
About Amistr
Primarily a tank type, Amistr sports the highest VIT and Max HP growth among all Homunculi. Its skills are all centered to serve as a distraction and take on hits for its master by switching their positions using Castling and by boosting its HP and DEF further. However, it lacks MDEF, making it vulnerable to magic, as well as offensive skills to quickly dispatch its target. Fortunately, its high VIT allows extremely high healing values from Aid Potion and Aid Condensed Potion, saving a good amount of potions to heal it to full health. Amistrs require the consumption of Zargon for feeding.
Appearances
Like all Homunculi, Amistr is obtainable in two styles, in this case visually resembling land animal life: one appears as a white fluffball sheep/goat, the other a pinkish brown hippo-like creature. Outside an aesthetic sense, there is ultimately no difference between "Sheep Amistr" and "Hippo Amistr", as they possess the same pool of skills and general stat growth.
Evolution
When the Homunculus' Intimacy is Loyal, use a Stone of Sage (simply double click it) to evolve it. There is no level condition in order to evolve it. With evolution, the Homunculus will obtain a random bonus for each of its stats, increased Max HP and Max SP and a new form.
After evolving, the Homunculus' Intimacy resets to 10 (Hate). Once its Intimacy reaches 910 again (1 point before Loyal), a fourth, new skill is unlocked.
Amistr and Alchemist Builds
Due to its tanking abilities and lack of offensive skills, Amistr works best with Alchemists capable to deal high damage. Because an Amistr cannot kill as quickly as the other homunculi save possibly the Lif, it serves more of a distraction to enemies while the master and his party take their opponents down. The Amistr also work well with tank builds as Amistr Defense gives equipment DEF to the master, further reducing physical damage. Although great tanks are good distractions, Amistrs are more suited to player versus monster engagements as smart players will opt to ignore the Amistr completely and focus on its master instead.
Pros
- Highest defense among all Homunculi, thanks to Adamantium Skin.
- Defense can be further boosted by Amistr Defense, which also boosts owner's VIT by up to 30.
- Blood Lust is a skill obtained when Amistr is evolved and loyal, and does not cause Intimacy loss.
Cons
- No offensive skills.
- Extremely poor SP Recovery.
- Lower Flee Rate and Attack Speed compared to Filir and Vanilmirth.
